WDYM (“we”, “our”, or “the App”) is a text and image analysis application designed to help you analyze chat logs and conversations. We do not operate any proprietary servers, nor do we store any of your chat history or personal data on our own databases. Data processing is conducted either locally on your device or via secure connections to trusted third-party API services and SDK partners.

This Privacy Policy outlines how we process your information in compliance with applicable data protection laws, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), and relevant local privacy frameworks.

What Information We Collect and Why

1. Content You Choose to Analyze

To perform conversation analysis, the App processes the content you explicitly upload or input. This includes:

• Screenshots and Images: If you upload screenshots of chat logs or text conversations, the App processes these images to perform optical character recognition (OCR) and text analysis.
• User Inputs (Names, Pronouns, and Relationships): You may choose to manually enter names, pronouns, and relationship dynamics (e.g., friend, partner) to tailor the analysis. This information, along with the text from your screenshots, is analyzed together.

2. Third-Party API Processing

To analyze your conversation screenshots and inputs, WDYM securely transmits this data to our AI service provider:

• Service Provider: Google Gemini API
• Data Flow: Uploaded images, text, and entered details are sent over TLS-encrypted connections (HTTPS) to the Google Gemini API.
• Data Retention: WDYM does not store your screenshots or text. Google retains request data (including images and text input) for up to 30 days solely for abuse-monitoring and safety auditing, after which it is deleted. Your data is not used to train Google's models.
• Data Protection & Transfer: Google processes all transmitted data under terms that ensure equivalent data protection to the standards defined under EU/US frameworks (e.g., GDPR), using approved cross-border transfer mechanisms such as Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs).

3. Third-Party SDKs and Identifiers

To support and improve the App, we integrate standard developer tools and advertising networks that collect specific technical identifiers:

• Google AdMob (AdManager): Used to display advertisements. If you consent via the iOS App Tracking Transparency (ATT) prompt, Google AdMob uses your device's IDFA (Identifier for Advertisers) to serve personalized ads. If you decline, non-personalized ads are shown.
• Firebase Analytics & Crashlytics (AppAnalytics): Used to collect anonymized usage data (e.g., screen views, features used) and crash reports to help us maintain and improve app stability.

What We Do Not Collect

Except for the specific images, text, and labels you explicitly provide for analysis, we do not collect or access:

• Your account credentials, email address, phone number, or Apple ID
• Your device's full contact list, calendar, or SMS database (we only process the screenshots you select)
• Your precise or coarse location data

Legal Basis for Processing

For users located in the European Union or regions covered by the GDPR, our legal basis for processing is your explicit consent when choosing to input text or screenshots for analysis.

For users in California (CCPA), we affirm:

• We do not sell your personal data. Sharing of identifiers (like IDFA) via AdMob is governed by your device's tracking consent settings.
• You can control advertising tracking and analytics via your iOS system settings.

Data Security

We prioritize the security of your data during transmission:

• All transmissions to the Google Gemini API, AdMob, and Firebase are encrypted using TLS/HTTPS.
• We do not save your screenshots, analyzed texts, or results on any remote servers.

Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights:

• Access/Control: You have full control over the images and text inputs on your device. You can opt out of analytics or tracking at any time through your device settings.
• Deletion: Since we do not retain any of your analysis data or screenshots on remote databases, there is no remote data for us to delete. You can delete the app from your device to remove all local data.

Children’s Privacy

WDYM does not knowingly collect any personal data from users under 13. The app contains no user registration/login, and we do not persistently store text messages or screenshots. If you believe a child under 13 has provided information to us, please contact us at the email below.

We may revise this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in functionality, law, or regulatory guidance. We will notify you of updates by revising the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page.
